Bhagavad Gita, Chapter 2, Verse 47

कर्मण्येवाधिकारस्ते मा फलेषु कदाचन।
मा कर्मफलहेतुर्भूर्मा ते सङ्गोऽस्त्वकर्मणि॥

karmaṇy-evādhikāras te mā phaleṣhu kadāchana
mā karma-phala-hetur bhūr mā te saṅgo 'stv akarmaṇi

Word-by-Word Meaning:

कर्मणि एव (karmaṇi eva): in action alone

अधिकारः (adhikāraḥ): right

ते (te): your

मा फलेषु (mā phaleṣu): never to the fruits

कदाचन (kadāchana): at any time

Meaning:

You have a right to perform your prescribed duties, but you are not entitled to the fruits of your actions. Never consider yourself to be the cause of the results of your activities, nor be attached to inaction.
